DARC'S CURRENT PROJECTS
Support and Technical Assistance for Micro-Finance Promotion (STAMP):
This project provides support and technical assistance to microfinance sector in Nigeria in order to deepen and broaden access to sustainable financial services in Nigeria. With support from Ford Foundation, DARC has successfully partnered with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) and International Labour Organization (ILO) to train Auditors, Directors and Management staff of more than 200 Microfinance Banks in Nigeria.
Endowment Initiative Learning Group (EILG):
The program is aimed at assisting NGOs develop an endowment that will make them self-reliant, and independent of the donor agencies to implement their programs.
The Endowment Initiative Learning Group (EILG) is supported by the Ford Foundation.
The initiative aims at empowering organizations to develop and implement strategic fund raising and asset building plans.
Under this program, few selected organizations and institutions that have demonstrated potentials for long term impact were constituted into a group.
The initiative convenes and coordinates the process of raising awareness about the role of endowments and other financial and non-financial instruments in promoting sustainable development.
Strategic Communication Program (SCP):
This project is devoted to providing ongoing specialized training on the use of ICT in program development.
Travel Exchange Monitoring Partnership Program (TEMP):
This program assists donors, development agencies, the private sector and their beneficiaries to co-ordinate projects such as: study tours and exchange visits, training and course participation, travel arrangements, program/project monitoring and supervision, and consultancy implementation. So far, the program has supported over 200 individuals and 85 organizations.
Harnessing Effective Local Partnership (HELP):
This project is designed to promote effective philanthropy in Nigeria by encouraging productive partnerships between private foundations, corporate institutions and the non-governmental organizations.
NGO Support Service:
DARC offers free consulting services for young non-profit organisations under this program.
Project Recruitment and Employment Support Service (PRESS):
This is DARC's recruitment consultancy service for the non-profit sector. The service entails recruitment of project staff for the NGO sector within 3 working days. The objective is to identify and recommend for employment to development institutions, suitable candidate(s) in terms of character, aptitude, aspirations, educational qualifications experience and professionalism, so as to create an effective and efficient project team that will drive the organizational vision.
DARC/DFID Project
DARC has implemented and managed a project-Enhancing Financial Innovations and Access (EFInA). This is a DFID approved project. The project aims to enhance stability in the financial sector and expand access to financial services to the poor. DARC oversees and manages the disbursement of the project funds for identified project activities in line with the budget submitted by Management board of EFInA.
CGAP book distribution
DARC was appointed distributor of CGAP current microfinance publications in its Regional Network Program. DARC distributes these publications to microfinance banks and institutions in Nigeria. Click here for more information
